GST billing software for Indian businesses
GST billing software creates tax invoices that meet India's GST rules automatically: it applies CGST and SGST for sales within a state, IGST for inter-state sales, prints HSN or SAC codes, and prepares e-invoice and e-way bill data. Billing Software by Betterwork does this for shops, traders, manufacturers and service firms.

India invoice and tax rules at a glance
- GST registration is identified by a 15-character GSTIN; the first two digits are the state code.
- A tax invoice must show supplier and recipient GSTIN, invoice number and date, HSN/SAC, taxable value, tax rate and tax amount.
- From 22 September 2025 most goods and services moved to two main GST slabs, 5% and 18%, with 40% for a small set of luxury and sin goods.
- E-invoicing (IRN) is mandatory for businesses with aggregate turnover above ₹5 crore in any financial year since 2017-18.
- An e-way bill is generally required to move goods worth more than ₹50,000; some states set their own intra-state limits.

GST billing software for Indian businesses: FAQ
Is GST billing software mandatory in India?
No law forces you to use software, but every GST-registered business must issue compliant tax invoices, and businesses over the e-invoicing turnover limit must report invoices to the IRP. Software is the practical way to do that without errors.
Can I bill in Hindi or Marathi?
Invoices can carry item names and notes in Indian languages alongside the English fields the GST rules expect.
Does it work for composition scheme dealers?
Yes. Composition dealers issue a bill of supply instead of a tax invoice and cannot collect tax; the software switches the document type for you.
Can I move my data from Tally?
Item masters, customers and opening balances can be imported from Excel exports, so you do not re-type your catalogue.
