GST invoice formats: FAQ

Are these GST invoice formats free?

Yes. Every format downloads free as Excel (with formulas), Word and PDF, with no sign-up. Each carries a small credit line you may remove.

Why a different format for each business?

Every GST invoice needs the Rule 46 basics, but trades add their own: batch and expiry for pharmacies, vehicle numbers for transporters, FSSAI numbers for food businesses. Each format here adds the fields and sample items for that trade.

Can I use these formats for e-invoicing?

Not on their own. Businesses above the e-invoicing turnover limit must report B2B invoices to the Invoice Registration Portal for an IRN. Billing Software by Betterwork does this automatically.
